New York City Mission Society officiated at
NASDAQ Closing Bell Ceremony on February 21st.

On February 21, New York City Mission Society officiated at the closing bell ceremony of the NASDAQ Stock Market. NASDAQ invites worthy charitable organizations to participate at the ceremony in order to broaden the nonprofit organizations’ outreach to a wider community.

Mission Society was represented by Stephanie Palmer, our Executive Director; Alexis Thomas, President of our Board of Directors; Allan Cepeda, a program alumnus; and several current Mission Society program participants, ages 8 to 10. Ms. Palmer had the opportunity to introduce Mission Society to the audience and Mr. Cepeda spoke about the ways in which the organization and its staff have been instrumental to his success. Mr. Cepeda will be graduating from St. Peter’s College this spring.

The event received a wide variety of media coverage. NASDAQ broadcast Mission Society’s logo on their Time Square tower and aired a live broadcast on their website, which will maintain pictures of the event in the archives. NASDAQ also sends out a media advisory. The NASDAQ closing was aired on CNBC, CNBC Asia, CNN International, CNN Pipeline, Bloomberg, Bloomberg Brazil, Report on Business (Canada), and New Tang Dynasty TV (China).

NASDAQ also provided Mission Society with a film of the event, which we will show at our upcoming Champions for Children luncheon at the Hilton on June 21st. Mission Society was honored to be chosen to participate in this exciting event.
